Ethan graduated from Syracuse University in 1993 with a degree in psychology. That October, Ethan moved to Colorado Springs, where he was a member of the U.S. Olympic Training Center’s first wrestling resident athlete program from 1993-2004.
During this period, Ethan competed for the United States in Greco-Roman Wrestling. He was a U.S. national champion in 2002 and a member of the U.S. National Team from 2000-2004, winning bronze medals in the World Cup in both 2001 and 2002. In 2000, Ethan placed second at the U.S. Olympic Trials and was an Olympic alternate.
Following his retirement from competitive wrestling, Ethan coached and taught at Blackhawk High School in Beaver Falls, PA, before becoming the assistant wrestling coach at Clarion University in Pennsylvania from 2006-2010.
Aside from athletics, Ethan has also served as a teacher at a small Christian school in Colorado Springs, teaching both math and science. Ethan earned his masters in Education from Liberty University in 2013.
Currently, Ethan is a School Counselor in the Ellwood City Area School District (PA) and coaches high school and youth wrestling. Ethan and his wife, Lydia, have five sons: Ty, Eli, Jonah, Josiah, and Amos.
